Organizers have declared a "White Out" for Saturday's Big Ten clash with No. 25 Iowa. Kickoff is at 12 p.m. in Beaver Stadium for Penn State's 85th Homecoming contest.
This week's game also has a grass roots push called "Get Up and Get Iowa" to get students into Beaver Stadium by kickoff. Volunteers called "room raiders" are expected to go door-to-door in an effort to make sure students remember the noon start.
All students who are in their seats by noon will be eligible to win two roundtrip tickets to Florida for spring break, courtesy of USA 3000 Airlines. The student gate, Gate A, will open Saturday at 10 a.m.
During the Nittany Lions' game with No. 9 Purdue on October 9, the Penn State student section responded to the initial "White Out," with a good portion of the students wearing white and raising the decibel level that made it difficult for the Boilermakers to change plays at the line of scrimmage.
"I thought the crowd was super...absolutely super," Coach Joe Paterno said of the Nittany Lion fans at the Purdue game. "The crowd was great and we need that same level of enthusiasm against Iowa."
