University police announced that they now have a suspect in the linked rape cases of a Penn State student and a woman in Oakland, Mich.
University Police Supervisor Dwight Smith said that after they released information to the public about the DNA connection between the two rapes, a person came forward who recognized the Michigan composite and gave police more information on the suspect, including the suspect's name and picture.
Police added that the tipster once knew the suspect.
While all the information provided fits the rape victim's descriptions, police still do not know where the suspect is currently located.
Because of the new development in the case, the investigation has become very active.
However, police can not yet give out the name or picture of suspect because they do not want to compromise the investigation, Smith said.
Both rapes occurred less than a year apart from each other about four years ago. One took place in the Penn State Blue Golf Course and the other one was at the Twin Lakes Golf Course in Oakland.
No Refund Theatre presents an adaptation of the Christopher Guest mockumentary Waiting for Guffman at 7 tonight and 8 tomorrow night in 111 Forum.
Director Kevin Haulihan (senior-marketing) said the play's script is essentially the same as the movie with only slight alterations, such as the addition of deleted scenes included in its DVD release.
He added that adapting the movie was a challenge for the cast and crew because of its documentary style of filming.
"I would say the most challenging part was the interviews," he said. "The musical at the end was the easy part, but the interviews are monologue all the time, so it's really fast from person to person and it was hard at first to get the transitions. There's a ton of quick scene changes too."
Both nights' performances are free of charge and open to the public.
