Penn State-Ohio State set to kickoff at noon

Penn State's Big Ten game with border rival Ohio State on Oct. 30 will kickoff at 12 p.m. in Ohio Stadium. ABC or ESPN will televise the game, with an announcement expected Sunday.

The telecast is the eighth announced television appearance this season for Penn State. The Nittany Lions have played twice on ESPN, once on ABC and three times on ESPN Plus. Saturday's Homecoming game with Iowa will be nationally televised by ESPN2 at 12 p.m.

The Nittany Lions have appeared on television in 121 of their last 123 games.

ABC has televised 10 of the last 11 Penn State-Ohio State clashes, including last year's 21-20 OSU comeback win.

Penn State and Ohio State will be meeting for the 12th consecutive year since the Nittany Lions began Big Ten play in 1993.

The home team has won nine of the 11 meetings as conference foes. The Nittany Lions lead the overall series, 10-9, and will be looking for their first win in Ohio Stadium since starting Big Ten play in 1993.

Ohio State hosts Indiana Saturday before the contest with the Nittany Lions.

A limited number of tickets, including some returned by the opponents, are left for Penn State's remaining home games against Iowa on Saturday, Northwestern on Nov. 6 and Michigan State on Nov. 20.

Traveling museum visits Penn State for weekend

The College Football Hall of Fame "Road Show" will be on campus during the Homecoming Weekend, Oct. 22-23, to help honor Penn State's newest Hall of Fame inductee, running back Lydell Mitchell.

The "Road Show" is a state-of-the-art, traveling museum contained in a 38-foot recreation vehicle that is designed to give visitors a feeling of the memorabilia and atmosphere they would find in the Hall's main facility in South Bend, Ind.

The vehicle will be parked outside the Penn State All-Sports Museum on Friday, opening at 10 a.m., and will participate in the Homecoming Parade. On game day, the vehicle will be parked outside the Bryce Jordan Center, opening at 9 a.m. There is no admission charge.

The "Road Show's" visit to Penn State is sponsored by the Penn State All-Sports Museum. Mitchell, who set an NCAA single season scoring record with 174 points in his senior year of 1971, will be honored during the Penn State-Iowa football game. Bernie Kish, executive director of the College Football Hall of Fame, will be at Beaver Stadium to present Mitchell with his Hall of Fame plaque. Mitchell will be honored at the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Dinner on Dec. 7 in New York City.
