Forcing views shows hypocrisy of liberals
Carole Napolitano's letter yesterday ("Group should not force beliefs at PSU" Mon., Oct. 18) is full of common liberal hypocrisy that needs to be exposed. The basic message is that in today's society it is unacceptable to be intolerant and to try to push one's will on others. However, by making such a bold statement, Napolitano is indirectly imposing her beliefs on her peers. Liberal thought, such as that contained in her letter, preaches tolerance of all groups, while in reality it is only accepting of those thoughts that do not oppose it. If this were not the case, then why are the DiscipleMakers faced with such harsh accusations merely for sticking up for its beliefs? If Napolitano had her way, the group would be forced to change its ways out of fear of being called intolerant and hateful. It is clear that progressive thinking is flawed to the extent that it has to resort to deception in order to make its argument. To the DiscipleMakers I say: Good job. If you don't have a bunch of liberals running around screaming and pissed off at you, you're probably not doing a good job in sticking up for your beliefs. It is because of people like Napolitano that the DiscipleMakers are so concerned about who assumes leadership in its organization. Dave Bieler
