Terrorists would vote for Kerry in election
As Ryan Lynch stated in his column ("Citizens need to stand up to political use of fear" Tues., Oct. 12), he is outraged over the "political use of fear." He called a sign "irresponsible and inappropriate" for asking the simple question, "Who would the terrorists vote for?" This statement is not designed to "play with people's fear," it is designed to make you think about the candidates' counter-terrorism records and policies. Lynch also makes the argument that if the terrorists could vote, they would choose neither -- now that is bogus. We have all heard on the news about an increased risk of terrorist attack as the election approaches. Now, why would the terrorists want to attack us before Nov. 2? They want to affect the outcome. An attack before the election will be for the specific purpose of killing Americans and hurting President George W. Bush's chances for re-election. The terrorists have done this before in Spain. The perfectly timed attack in that country brought down a government that was working with the U.S. in Iraq, and resulted in the ultimate withdrawal of Spain's troops. Kerry disagrees with Bush's forceful approach. Many people want to see Bush lose, it is preposterous to think that Muqtada al-Sadr and Osama bin Laden are different. H. Josh Stanton
