Obesity is the No. 1 health problem and the leading cause of heart disease in the United States, and a number of people are alarmed that obesity in children is a rapidly growing epidemic. To better understand human behavior, Penn State researchers in the School of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) have developed a computer model that simulates math anxiety when programmed to respond to a serial subtraction task. Within the decade, the vast reaches of space may be opened to anyone -- if you can pay for it. Sometimes, catching a disease is more complicated than you'd think.
