Green's criticism not fair to free speech
I find it interesting that Megan Green, head of the College Democrats, would call Mike Gallagher's visit to campus on Oct. 22 "ridiculous." Michael Moore and Howard Dean will each be here within two weeks of the election, and Teresa Heinz Kerry has already been here. What's wrong with a different point of view? Not only that, but he will be raising money for our troops, not taking money from the students to put into his pockets. That fact alone tells you about all you need to know. The "ridiculous" thing is that Moore will be making money by decrying the "diabolical" capitalistic system that allows him to make all of that money to speak for an hour or two. This guy goes to other countries to call you stupid behind your back and you are still going to show up to support him? If Sen. John Kerry supporters want to be taken seriously, I would recommend distancing themselves from Moore and his lies and distortions. For those of you who don't believe that they are lies, I invite you to show up for Gallagher's event, where Moore's arguments will be refuted point by point. My guess is that you won't be laughing at him then, if you have the courage to hear the truth. Mark Mey
