The plan for the evening includes a campfire and scary stories that are what storyteller Anita Dietz called "stories for enjoyment with a scary subtext."
"Each story is not scripted, but told on the top of the head," Lee said.
Centre Region Parks & Recreation and the Schlow Memorial Library are co-sponsors the event.
"It is a great partnership between the organizations," Dietz said.
The organizations have worked together every year of the event.
"Storytelling is a part of an American tradition, a fun activity on a cool night," Dietz said.
"We share stories without books."
Lee added that event attendees should bring lawn chairs, blankets and snacks.
Gardner's Candies, located in Tyrone, donated gift certificates that will be given out at the event.
Megan Clements (sophomore-health and human development) is the event's student coordinator.
Clements said the event is not just for families, but students would enjoy it as well.
"This event is family oriented, but would be a great time for students," Clements said.
The two other featured storytellers will be Bill Metzel and Tony Lentz.
"Everybody tells stories and likes to listen to them," Dietz said. "Speaking from your heart is a really intriguing tradition."
