Student votes decide how funding is spent
I think that all of the recent accusations of University Park Allocation Comittee's liberal bias are unfounded and incorrect. If the group had refused to fund a comparable conservative speaker that would be a liberal bias, but I have heard of no such denial. As UPAC members themselves said, they are limited by programs brought to them by students. It is not their fault that no one has tried to get a conservative speaker. I bet UPAC would even fund it. This controversy brings up a point relevant to what I presume Michael Moore will be discussing: the importance of voting. UPAC is not some mysterious body descended from the heavens, it is a group of students who are elected every spring through the USG/ARHS/UPAC elections. The majority of Penn State students don't vote in these elections. If you have a problem with the way UPAC is operating, maybe you should vote when these elections come up in the spring, or maybe run yourself. Jen Galvin
