UPAC spends money on many diverse events

People shouldn't be so upset that the University Park Allocations Committee is helping to fund Michael Moore. Yes, we all know that UPAC runs out of money by January, thus jeopardizing programs that need funding in the spring. Good planning on the part of program organizers can avoid getting left penniless, though. Applications for UPAC funds are typically due 40 days before you need the money, but there's nothing saying you can't apply way before that. If the College Republicans want Rush Limbaugh, they should apply now while there's still money to be had instead of complaining that the College Democrats got to UPAC first. Another thing is that UPAC funds lots of programs that many people do not necessarily attend, such as the student discounts for performances at Eisenhower Auditorium. No one complains that UPAC funds Swan Lake! The only reason people are getting upset about Michael Moore is that he's controversial. Life is full of controversy. Get over it.
