In response to Michael Jozkowski's letter ("Absence of politics shows liberal agenda") about the Vote for Change tour in yesterday's Collegian. I'm sure manipulating the general public was exactly the plan of the organizers and artists involved with the Vote for Change tour. That was probably the plan when they named and clearly billed the concerts as the Vote for Change tour (this wasn't the Vote for No Change tour), or when they printed the tickets as "Move On PAC Presents..." I guess they were still trying to be sneaky when they handed out a flyer with more than 10 reasons to remove Bush from office as concertgoers reached their seats. And they really slipped one by us when they made everyone that purchased tickets check and initial a statement, agreeing that they were making a political contribution to ACT. Oh, those tricky liberals.
Perhaps, unlike Jozkowski, Dave Matthews gave us the credit that we deserved. Since everyone knew exactly what the concert was about (unless they were living in a cave for the past two months), Dave Matthews assumed his typical soft-spoken on-stage role. The bands knew that we knew where our money went, and so they did what they do best, played music. To the Republicans/conservatives who were tricked into giving their money to the other side: I'm sorry, next time we'll try harder (if that's possible) to make our liberal agenda clear.
