Letter to the Editor
Pres. Bush will hurt rights of minorities

In response to Nick Klein ("Pres. Bush will keep rights for minorities"), President Bush, has already made it his intention to strip away the rights of women, gay/lesbian and minority groups over the past four years. Wasn't it Pres. Bush who used the vast resources of the Justice Department, in filing an Amicus Brief arguing against the University of Michigan, and millions of Americans, in saying that "diversity isn't a compelling state interest," when Affirmative-Action was argued at the Supreme Court on April 1, 2003, (totally ignoring the fact that Legacy Admissions-the reason he got into college-benefits more people than Affirmative-Action has ever)? Isn't it also President Bush who actively supports amending our constitution-in effect, rewriting the words of our founders, to include intolerance, hate, and bigotry, so that gay and lesbian Americans, can never realize equality under the law?
