The Lion should stop worrying about funds

I'd like to comment on the in-depth piece regarding the Lion 90.7FM funding cut. As an active participant in several organizations, I found the stance of the students of the station completely offensive. While I'm sure it must be a hardship to adjust to not having at least $25,000 at its disposal every year, I'm more inclined to welcome them to the world of "every other organization on campus" than shed tears of sympathy.

Perhaps if the students of the Lion were not so spoiled and obviously unappreciative, they might take notice of the hundreds of other groups on campus that operate without ever having such a large monetary gift bestowed upon them. If the Lion 90.7 FM is truly dedicated to staying on the air, then I suggest they take notes from those "lesser" organizations who get by on their own. Itemizing your funding needs for UPAC is not that taxing and last time I checked, fundraising was not such a radical concept. So if the radio station is as important as those who are involved claim, I propose this: Stop whining, and get to work.
