Cheerleaders not charged with assault

A woman who reported being assaulted by Penn State cheerleaders outside the Student Book Store last week will not be pressing charges in the case, State College Police Sgt. Dana Leonard said.

The incident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Student Book Store, 330 E. College Avenue. Police said the victim was walking out of the store and after refusing to take complimentary stickers from the cheerleaders, some of them approached her and pasted about 20 stickers on her. The victim also reported she was struck by one of the people in the group.
