Thank U.S. soldiers for helping country
What a beautiful thing it is when men and women alike love this country so much they are willing to die for it, regardless of age or level of education. It is a beautiful thing indeed. This country survived on their backs, on their sweat and blood, on their bravery and love of this great nation. We owe them our freedom, now and in the past. We are here today because of them. No one has the right to criticize them because they are more brave than any of us here. And it is a sad day indeed when we base an opinion of these men and women on a select few who made an extremely poor decision. While these men and women may be young,, they know what they are doing and do it well. A boy I know, not older than 20, was in Iraq a week ago. When his convoy was hit and he was badly injured, he kept his wits about him and his bravery alive, and he administered CPR to two of his fallen friends. While he could not save them, he tried. Right now, he is in a hospital in Germany, asking to be sent back to Baghdad. I could not ask for a better soldier, a better patriot. He, and others like him, display the utmost bravery at the most important times. Regardless of your political beliefs (and believe it or not, I'm as liberal as you get) or who you are voting for in November, these men and women deserve our respect. They are true patriots and have a love of this country greater than anyone I have ever met. So please support and respect them, love them, for what they do - never, ever insult them. Say 'thank you' instead. Rachel Trosino
