Lady Lion guard named preseason All-American
Sports in brief

All-Big Ten guard Tanisha Wright has been named to the 2004-05 Street & Smith preseason All-America team. She has already been named a preseason Women's Wooden Award and Wade Trophy Player of the Year Award candidate.

Wright is coming off a tremendous 2003-04 campaign in which she was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, the only player ever to win the award twice. She was a first-team All-Big Ten selection by both the coaches and the media last year, and was recognized by the AP as an honorable mention All-American.

Along with Wright's honor, the Lady Lions were also tabbed as No. 20 in the nation in the preseason poll released by Street & Smith's College Basketball magazine. Four of Penn State's non-conference opponents are ranked in the top 10 of this poll.
