Concerns about the potential effects of an Undergraduate Student Government (USG) Senate decision have prompted concern by USG President Galen Foulke and Treasurer Andrew Reeve.

Tuition will increase by 5.8 percent for the 2005-06 academic year if the university receives its state appropriations request, Penn State President Graham Spanier announced at the Board of Trustees meeting Friday.

Plans are in the works for a new Catholic Student Center to be built at 113-123 E. Park Ave., but some residents in the area are not happy with the possible addition to their neighborhood.

The Chemistry and Life Sciences buildings are open for class after its dedication Friday afternoon.

President George W. Bush announced various proposals for higher education during the recent Republican National Convention that would help to expand the number of students who could qualify for federal student aid.
