"That suits us well offensively, but we need to be able to defend it," he added.
On Sunday, Penn State will go up against Radford, which is a program that has recently been built up, and whose strength lies in its emotions.
Things the Ruggers worked on in practice this week were their body positioning in rucks and mauls. They also focused on the kinks they saw in their defense in last weekend's game.
"Our tackling technique is really poor," Ferrell said. "We need to get lower in the tackles."
Although the Ruggers are coming off a big win against the Buckeyes, at practice there was no hint that had happened.
"The intensity is up because we have lots to focus on," forward Mike Finnerty said.
He added that the defense was the team's main concern.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Ruggers worked on their ball handling and running the ball to get penetration lanes in the opponent's defense.
"I feel that these group of guys feel more like a unit than any other team I have played on in the last three years," Ruggers captain Timmy Ryland said.
