In response to Rebecca Drozd's letter to the editor, she is sadly mistaken if she believes that all students at Penn State make their own decisions without the influence of others.

I know many people who are not smart enough to make their own decision on who to vote for this election; It feels like my IQ drops by 10 points every time I hear some of these people explain why they are voting for Pres. Bush or John Kerry.

A large percentage of students at Penn State don't know the issues, don't know what to believe, and would be willing to vote for a certain candidate if someone like Dave Matthews or Bruce Springsteen told them to, because they worship these performers. Speak for yourself when it comes to making informed decisions alone, but I know a lot of people who will be voting for John Kerry simply because Dave Matthews and John Mellencamp say that it's the right thing to do.
