[ Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004 ] Letter to the Editor
Most PSU students will listen to artists
In response to Rebecca Drozd's letter to the editor, she is sadly mistaken if she believes that all students at Penn State make their own decisions without the influence of others. I know many people who are not smart enough to make their own decision on who to vote for this election; It feels like my IQ drops by 10 points every time I hear some of these people explain why they are voting for Pres. Bush or John Kerry. A large percentage of students at Penn State don't know the issues, don't know what to believe, and would be willing to vote for a certain candidate if someone like Dave Matthews or Bruce Springsteen told them to, because they worship these performers. Speak for yourself when it comes to making informed decisions alone, but I know a lot of people who will be voting for John Kerry simply because Dave Matthews and John Mellencamp say that it's the right thing to do.
