Former Penn State employee Adam R. Chadwick was sentenced Friday to six months to 23 1/2 months in Centre County Prison for crimes related to the sexual abuse of children. He must also pay $2,000 in fines for 19 counts of criminal use of a communication facility. Both charges are considered felonies.
Police investigated Chadwick after his girlfriend found pictures of nude girls under the age of 18 in his Ferguson Township apartment. In February 2003, Ferguson Township police found 46 images of nude girls on his computer, and Chadwick was arrested.
His employment at the university was terminated in March 2003; however, Penn State was unable to comment on whether he was fired by the university or voluntarily left, Penn State spokesman Bill Mahon said at the time. Chadwick was a computer lab supervisor for the School of Visual Arts.
