Letter to the Editor
Readers shouldn't let letter affect opinions

Nicholas Ellis' letter ("Kerry doesn't respect fellow war veterans," Aug. 4) proves one of three possible things: either (1) he's a Republican, (2) he hates John Kerry, or (3) he actually tried to get on the presidential ballot and failed. At least it'd appear that way.

Aside of his roundabout analogy, he offers little proof to support his opinions. Mr. Ellis goes on to say that Kerry "has done his best to dishonor his peers who fought in Vietnam," and that he "has no plan and has rarely considered America's well-being in his ambitious march to the White House."

Generally speaking, one-liners with no factual proof are considered ignorant. Nothing more, nothing less.

If you're reading this, do yourself a favor and listen to the candidates on your own. Form your own opinions, and don't let short-sighted enthusiasts like Mr. Ellis change your mind.
