Health and Safety: A Redifer Commons employee reported Tuesday morning that a stray cat was wandering the construction site nearby.

The cat reportedly attacked three construction workers, leaving them with some bites and scratches that did not require medical attention. The cat was subsequently trapped in a storage room. Officers destroyed the cat, which later tested negative for rabies.

Theft: A black Jeep Liberty at 228 S. Atherton St. was broken into sometime between July 31 and Aug. 3. Several textbooks, 24 CDs and a bag of change were stolen.

Police could not provide an estimated value of the loss.

University police are located in the Eisenhower Parking Garage on campus.
