A group of technologically savvy Pennsylvania high school students is helping bring an interactive, online hub of voting information to Penn State students through a student organization called P.S. U Vote.

A judge on Tuesday denied a request for a new trial by a former Penn State wrestler convicted of sexually assaulting a female Penn State student.


Now that the Democratic National Convention is over, local political party offices are continuing efforts to get students and locals registered to cast their votes in the national election.

Police have yet to receive any calls from a blue-light emergency phone installed nearly a month ago along Calder Way.

The unusually rainy State College summer has forced the Penn State summer camp community to adjust its activities to the less favorable conditions.

SPORTS

Penn State junior cornerback Alan Zemaitis was named to the Jim Thorpe Award watch list yesterday. Zemaitis is one of 29 athletes on the preseason list for the honor, which is presented to the nation's top defensive back.

Since 1997, women have had a successful professional basketball league of their own, and Kelly Mazzante has known where she would be headed after her days at Penn State were complete.
