The Daily Collegian is looking for anyone interested in politics, social concerns or concerns of Penn State students to address those issues in columns or editorial cartoons for the Opinion page.
Columnists are responsible for about 800 words on a weekly basis during the summer session. The Collegian is looking for those with an interest in writing and the ability to address issues in an engaging manner. Applicants should expect to have column topics approved by the Opinion page editor.
Editorial cartoonists portray local, national and world issues in a fresh and humorous way. They should bring their own ideas to the paper and respond to those of the Collegian Board of Opinion.
If you are a Penn State student interested in either of these positions, pick up an application at the Collegian office in the James Building, 123 S. Burrowes St.
Applications will be accepted until Friday, July 2, 2004. Interviews will be conducted Monday, July 5, 2004.
If you have questions about applying, please contact Opinion Editor Hannah Aboul-Hosn at 865-1828 or collegianletters@psu.edu.
