'White Chicks': Shawn & Marlon are lame chicks in a lamer flick

Your first mistake when considering whether or not to see the new Wayans brothers picture White Chicks is assuming it's a comedy. It's not. There are jokes, sure, but practically none of them that don't have to do with that Vanessa Carlton song will make you laugh.

Your second mistake would be to assume it's racist or in poor taste or something. It's not. Shawn and Marlon Wayans play FBI agents who infiltrate a gathering of rich people to stop a kidnapping, or something (thinking there's a plot would also be a bad idea). Yes, they play white girls, and are not themselves white. But the movie avoids cheap shots as much as possible, and, hey, if Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie can have a TV show, certainly the brothers deserve a movie making fun of how stupid they are.

But your third mistake is looking at the makeup the two wear in the previews and wondering why you'd ever want a see a movie with those hideous looking things as the stars. Trust me, you do. White Chicks is a pretty lousy movie, but watching Shawn and Marlon go crazy in truly awful whiteface for an hour and a half is definitely worth the five bucks. You can yell "can't you tell they're not white!?" at the screen if you'd like, or count the number of times you ask yourself which Wayans makes a better looking woman. Whatever your pleasure, White Chicks is just too weird to pass up. If you know what you're getting into, you won't be disappointed.
