Wait a minute. The Faculty Senate is adding more diversity requirements ("Faculty Senate to require more diversity credits for graduation," April 28) without answering some questions? How does Lesbian and Gay History or History of Feminist Thought count as an Intercultural and International Competence (GI) class, but History of Modern China does not? No one has bothered to answer. Instead they'll just give you more "diversity" courses. Why can't the Faculty Senate answer that simple question or revise its "diversity" courses to include the History of Modern China? It seems simple enough to me.
I suggest the students at Penn State reject the Faculty Senate's recommendation until it can start clearing illogical and hypocritical items within the "diversity" requirements.
