Police seek witnesses in College Ave. robbery

A man robbed Omega Bank, 366 E. College Ave., at 12:30 p.m. yesterday , the State College Police Department said.

According to a police press release, the man entered the bank and handed an employee a note indicating that he had a gun and wanted money. The man was given an undisclosed amount of money, and he then left the bank, traveling in an unknown direction on East College Avenue. It is also unknown whether the man was traveling on foot or in a vehicle.

Cpl. Mark Argiro said the man did not show the gun mentioned in the note.

Police describe the man as white, 30 to 35 years old, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 225 pounds.

He has short, dirty blond hair and was clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a gray tank top, khaki pants and sunglasses.

He also has several visible tattoos on his upper arms.

Police ask that anyone who witnessed the incident or who has seen an individual matching the perpetrator's description to call the State College Police at 234-7150.
