Zero stands between guys and beloved hats
Abigail Silber's column about annoyances at Penn State was rather amusing ("Reflections on Penn State annoyances through 4 years," April 19). However, I am a little annoyed with her comment about "boys who have worn the same hat since they were 14 -- and think that it makes them cool." First of all, never get between a guy and his hat. Secondly, it's not about looking cool; it's about wearing your favorite hat. Thirdly, guys wear hats because they are comfortable, and they just rock -- much like your little blanky or teddy that you've had since you were a little girl. It works, and we feel naked without them. So, don't go criticizing guys for sticking with the same hat because you think they do it to feel cool. It's about personal attachment, deal with it. Oh, and don't think it's cool to take one of said hats from a guy, because it's not. Bill Zane
