To the men who spent Wednesday night's Take Back the Night in their residence halls in East and Pollock, I want to apologize. I apologize that you were too afraid to speak out. I apologize that you felt you had to hide in the darkness and hide behind loud music and offensive slurs. I apologize that you don't have the information you need to realize how men need to be proactively involved in stopping violence against women. I am truly sorry that the only way you know how to respond is to seek attention in childlike and emotionally stunted ways. I hope that you will find courage to come out of hiding next year and join the march.
