Four years ago, Chavous Nichols, then the Colorado State high school champion in the triple jump, received what must rank as one of the most persuasive recruiting pitches in the history of collegiate athletics.

For the Penn State men's lacrosse team, it wasn't about playing on the road in what amounted to a must-win game. It wasn't about breaking down the Mount St. Mary's defensive and offensive schemes. It wasn't about finally living up to expectations that have slowly dwindled away. It was just about finally playing well.

The scoreboard read 6-5 Penn State, but the body language of the players told the real story.

Pitching coach Buck Kicinski had a mission for his Penn State baseball club pitchers going into this weekend.

"We're going to Stanford!"

The Penn State men's rugby team came into the weekend with not beating Ohio State in the last two seasons.

Every once and a while in a dynamic duo, the "sidekick" has to step up and take control of a situation. Sometimes Robin had to help Batman when he was in trouble.

This weekend the No. 7 Penn State men's volleyball team had the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde syndrome.

It's only one practice. One out of 15 that will take place this spring, and with all other practices closed, one out of only two times the public or media get to see the team play this spring.

As the WNBA draft commenced at noon on Saturday in Secaucus, N.J., Jess Brungo was nowhere near the NBA Entertainment centers. The senior forward was in Virginia at a family member's wedding. And besides, she never expected she would have a reason to be there for the draft anyway.
