Letter to the Editor
Coulter coverage lacks objective, fair viewpoint

Unfortunately, The Daily Collegian has upheld itself once again as a member of the liberal fifth column in its article Friday by Kristin Collela on Ann Coulter's speech ("Coulter uses humor, sarcasm in speech," April 19). No one can argue that Coulter is not a conservative Republican, but I find it dubious that in interviewing students following the lecture, four of them provided negative responses, one didn't say whether or not she liked Coulter, but rather that she agreed with the war in Iraq, and the last person said she was a fan of Coulter but thought that she was too "rude for my taste." Well done in presenting a balanced piece of responses by those who attended a conservative speaker.

The Daily Collegian has done more to disparage her remarks and present its liberal distaste for her by using students as a conduit thereof, than allowing this realistic and intelligent conservative voice to have the acceptance that she rightly deserves.
