Letter to the Editor
Specter's dishonesty should lead to ouster

Sen. Arlen Specter, you must go. Three-time Congressman Pat Toomey, R-Pa (15th District), is on a mission to restore fiscal and moral integrity to Pennsylvania by taking Specter's seat. Why is Specter, R-Pa., dishonest and fiscally corrupt? Well, he has failed to responsibly allocate record-breaking tax hikes in an efficient manner. You don't believe me? The fiscal watchdog group Citizens Against Government Waste has labeled Specter the 2nd worst Republican senator in terms of his fiscal spending. He is also dishonest because he has accused his opponent, Toomey, of having bad moral values, such as voting for gambling and failing to support a new labeling of media for violent material. These accusations are distorted; read the facts for yourself on Toomey's Web site.

What qualifies Toomey for the job? Well, as a Harvard graduate, he has been in business for 15 years and currently serves on the U.S. Committee for the Budget and Financial Services. The Wall Street Journal declared, "Mr. Toomey is ... a young, whip-smart conservative who actually walks the walk." The biggest issue for Toomey is the government's role in protecting innocent human life. On the other hand, Specter has voted against the sanctity of life: abortion and manipulating human life. Specter corroborated with Sens. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., and Diane Feinstein D-Cali., to create legislation to allow human cloning. And, he openly supports Roe vs. Wade -- that's God's business.

Finally, Toomey is attempting to save Pennsylvania from the slippery slope of moral anarchy. Whether you like Toomey or not, the citizens of Pennsylvania have a historic decision for who wins the Senate seat on Tuesday.
