Penn State men's basketball coach Ed DeChellis received his third official letter of intent for his 2004 recruiting class yesterday and looks to have a fourth coming within the next few days.
Geary Claxton, a 6-foot-5 wing from West Haven, Conn., sent his signed letter of intent to Penn State yesterday, the first day of college basketball's spring signing period.
"He has the ability to score from the perimeter as well as drive to the basket, and he is a superb offensive rebounder," DeChellis said in a press release. "Geary is very athletic and possesses all the talents we're looking for at the wing position."
Claxton joins incoming guards Mike Walker and Danny Morrissey as parts of DeChellis' first full recruiting class as a head coach at Penn State.
It is also likely that junior-college transfer Travis Parker, a 6-foot-5 power forward from Southwest Missouri State-West Plains, will officially sign with the Lions in the near future. Parker gave a verbal commitment to Penn State on Tuesday.
