NEWS

Though the problem of downloading illegal music is well publicized, a less visible type of piracy has cost U.S. textbook publishers millions of dollars.

The State College area has a new monument coming its way to commemorate some heroes whom its residents may not have even known they had.

Spring has been in the air around State College, and that means many outdoor seating areas are starting to get crowded.

When senior libero Ricky Mattei walked into the media room after Saturday's game against Princeton, the writing on his taped-up knees said it all:

After Hobart (6-4) scored the go-ahead goal with 1:30 remaining in Saturday's game, the Penn State men's lacrosse team was playing for more than just a win.

Penn State was dead; that much was certain.

Jumper Chavous Nichols had a fantastic Easter weekend in Wichita, Kan., outside in the freezing cold and driving rain.

It was just another day at the office for the Penn State women's track and field team -- day, meaning weekend.

PHILADELPHIA -- It was 16-4 to start, and it only got worse from there.

There's no place like Harrisonburg, Va., for the Penn State women's golf team.

And the streak rolls on.

To call the No. 10 Michigan Wolverines' pitching staff unhittable wouldn't be far from the truth. The staff currently sits atop the Big Ten with a season earned run average of 0.73 and 18 shutouts in 37 games.

Sometimes you have to look for the good in a seemingly bad situation.
