Letter to the Editor
Political blame game doesn't help citizens

Zachary Snyder ("Liberals lead America to war in Iraq, Vietnam" April 8), you are truly blinded by your political biases. You have become blinded to the point in which you completely dismiss one of the great families of this country simply because of their place in the political spectrum. You look for any angle that can clear the conservatives from any blame, as well as giving them all the credit for the prosperity enjoyed by this country in the last decade. But, your letter shines a light upon a deeper problem that our country is undergoing: We have become so polarized by our politics that it has become nearly impossible to take part in fruitful discourse. It has gotten to the point that we don't really think of the issues, but rather simply gravitate to the majority consensus of "our side."

To solve the problems that plague this country, we must partake in productive conversation and avoid the political mud-slinging that is so common these days. It is time for us to stop playing the blame game and start working together. I only hope that this is possible in today's ever-so-tense political climate.
