In Torie Bosch's analysis of media biases ("Sorting opinions in radio airwaves doesn't foster valid discussions," April 5), she fails to mention the distorted coverage of the Middle East. For years, Western media have been unbalanced in their portrayal of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. When a Palestinian conducts a suicide attack against Israelis, it is widely reported.
But, when the state of Israel sends a targeted missile into a crowded apartment building in downtown Gaza, one must strain one's ears to hear fair reporting.
It is such bias that creates the sense in the Middle East that America is complicit in Israel's state terrorism against the Palestinians.
Bosch is right in saying that we have become indoctrinated with one point of view. We must speak up against media bias and realize that all terrorism, whether committed by Osama bin Laden or Ariel Sharon, and every loss of innocent life, whether Muslim, Jew or Chrisitian, equally merits media coverage.
