Morgan's statement shows USG is 'bogus'

In response to the whole Takkeem Morgan fiasco ("Morgan's comments trigger controversy," April 2), I would like to say that although the manner in which Morgan's statement was made was inappropriate, the content was entirely legitimate. Does anyone really think the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) is that important? When election time comes, we hear a lot of promises and a lot of cheerleading about "the student voice." But soon after the election, not much is mentioned about USG until next election season. Then all of a sudden it's time to change the university and increase student rights.

Considering there were children and family members around, it was wrong to use the f-word. Maybe he should have said, "Wake the poop up." Regardless, I think Morgan said something most of us agree with, and that is that USG is pretty bogus.
