State Rep. Kerry Benninghoff, R-Centre, along with two other Republican state representatives, was thrown off the April 27 primary ballot after losing a court case involving financial disclosures included with Benninghoff's candidate filing papers.

Lauren Preuninger was more than a little upset after hearing President George W. Bush say on Feb. 24 that he would support a Constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.

The Undergraduate Student Government (USG) Senate passed a resolution Tuesday recommending that the Penn State administration recognize Groove Phi Groove as an official organization on campus.

In less than two weeks, a new bar will be open for business on campus.

On Friday, members of the Off-Campus Student Union (OCSU) will meet with Student Affairs officials to discuss adding their organization to the Division of Student Affairs.

As Old Man Winter finally releases his icy grip on State College, local township members are beginning spring cleanup by fixing area roads and encouraging other residents to tidy up their yards.

The Patton Township Police Department is investigating the attempted theft of an ATM from Target, 315 Lowes Blvd., that occurred Tuesday morning. According to a police report, three men entered the store around 11 a.m. and attempted to remove a freestanding ATM. The men fled the store after they realized they were unable to lift the ATM, police said. They then left in a dark-colored Ford F-150 truck with a ladder rack in the bed of the truck. The vehicle was last seen heading in the direction of North Atherton Street.

On April 25, men and women from around the world will gather in Washington, D.C., to march for women's rights, and many Penn State organizations are trying to gain student support.

Danielle Perry (senior-physics) has earned the opportunity to participate in the National Institutes of Health-University of Cambridge Graduate Partnerships Program, a five-year initiative to enhance graduate study and research.

Tickets for the final installment of the Distinguished Speaker Series are now available to Penn State students and staff. Linda Chavez, a civil-rights activist and president of the Center for Equal Opportunity, will speak at 8 p.m. Monday in Schwab Auditorium.

It's the jubilant versus the dramatic this Tuesday night in Eisenhower Auditorium as the Nittany Valley Symphony (NVS) performs Beethoven & Brahms, a classical presentation of two of the artists' contrasting musical masterpieces, Ludwig von Beethoven's Symphony No. 8 and Johannes Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2.

The Sound of Music climbs every mountain onto the Eisenhower Auditorium stage at 7:30 p.m. April 14.

The Penn State Thespians will undertake quite a challenge this weekend when they attempt to convey the hidden meaning in a fantastical story line.
