Why do people write letters to the editor and complain about how inefficient the police at State College are ("Local law enforcement serve, protect selves," March 24)? Are they dumb? Have they given any thought that maybe cracking down on these so-called "victimless" crimes -- such as underage drinking, possession and noise pollution -- are in fact deterrents to more serious crimes like larceny, rape or assault? Don't cry because you got a citation for doing something illegal.
On that note, what's the deal with Jennifer Rush's letter, "Parking enforcement frustrates PSU student," on Tuesday? She admits to parking illegally, and then writes to The Daily Collegian to complain about getting a parking ticket? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
