A Texas man was arraigned Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault and two counts of simple assault after an altercation he had with his brother while driving through Centre County.
According to the Patton Township Police Department, William Holloway, a 28-year-old resident of Seagoville, Texas, is accused of stabbing his brother, Iniko Holloway.
"The incident took place a little after 5 p.m. on Tuesday," Sgt. Frank Monroe said.
Monroe said the police were not called, but officers were already in the area where the incident took place.
"We had officers responding to several traffic accidents on the highway, and they noticed the victim walking on the highway, which is illegal because it is a divided highway," Monroe said. "The officers approached him, and he said he had been stabbed."
The pair was then questioned, and William Holloway was arrested, Monroe said. Iniko Holloway was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center, where he received several stitches and was later released.
The brothers were driving on the U.S. Route 322 bypass near the Toftrees interchange when the incident occurred.
"It appears that they were just passing through the area," Monroe said.
The two had been riding together when an argument broke out, which escalated into a fistfight, then resulted in the stabbing.
William was arraigned before District Justice Jonathan Grine and placed in Centre County prison. Bail was set at $25,000.
A preliminary hearing is set for March 24.
