When various members of the Penn State hockey community approached Chris Whittemore to coach the Lady Icers, there was initially hesitation.

The seedings were released Monday for the 2004 NCAA wrestling tournament to be held tomorrow through Saturday at the Savvis Center in St. Louis. Four of the six Penn State participants are seeded and could find themselves in some very interesting matches.

Penn State women's basketball player Kelly Mazzante has been selected to the 2004 WBCA All-Star Challenge Team. The Challenge will showcase the top senior players in women's basketball at Tulane University's Fogelman Arena on April 3.

Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is sponsoring buses to the Lady Lions' first- and second-round games in Blacksburg, Va., for all interested students.

Forwards Jan Jagla and Robert Summers walked off of the Conseco Fieldhouse court last Thursday after losing to Northwestern. Both have seen every season that they have played at Penn State end the same way -- a loss in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.
