Police still looking into robbery of PNC Bank

The Ferguson Township Police Department is continuing to investigate an armed robbery that occurred Monday morning at the PNC Bank, 1408 N. Atherton St.

"We're following all leads as fast as they come in. We're trying to enhance the surveillance footage, and speaking to [bank] employees to obtain any information they might have," said Det. John Conti, the lead investigator in the case.

Police have been unable to determine the type of gun that was used in the robbery. Police initially reported that a sawed-off shotgun or a handgun was used, but now police won't specify beyond saying it was "some type of firearm weapon."

Conti said an audit is underway to determine the amount of money stolen, though that information won't be released to the public.

Police released descriptions and composite sketches of the two suspects in the robbery on Monday. Police said the suspects are two black males in their mid-20s. Each was dressed in a white shirt, black tie, black coat, and black hat.

One suspect is 6 feet to 6 feet, 2 inches tall and spoke with a Jamaican accent.

The second suspect is 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall. Both suspects are described as having "thin builds."

Police are asking anyone with information pertaining to the robbery to contact the Ferguson Township Police Department at 237-1172.
