The State College Police Department is looking for a man who allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from Kaufmann's Department Store in the Nittany Mall on two separate occasions.

The first incident occurred in late February when the man walked into the store and took about $3,800 worth of jewelry, police said. A second incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. on March 8 when the man entered and stole about $4,490 in merchandise. An employee described the suspect as at 30-year-old white man, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build and short blond hair. A composite sketch can be found on the State College police Web site at www.statecollegepa.us. Anyone with information is asked to call State College police at 234-7150.
