Nittany Lions women's track and field senior Connie Moore was named Big Ten Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Year and the Athlete of the Championship on Wednesday by the conference coaches.
Penn State women's track coach Beth Alford-Sullivan was also selected Big Ten Coach of the Year following Penn State's first-ever Big Ten championship in track and field, Feb. 29 in Iowa City, Iowa.
Moore won the 60-meter and the 200- meter sprints at the championships.
Alford-Sullivan won the award fo rthe first time in her five years at Penn State and this is the first time a Nittany Lions track and field coach won Big Ten coach of the year honors.
