Freshman forward Rochelle Johnson, who was not on the bench during the Penn State women's basketball team's 69-60 victory against No. 6 Purdue Sunday, will not be with the team for the post-season play, Penn State women's basketball coach Rene Portland indicated Tuesday.
"She's dealing with some things that she needs to take care of to be a part of Penn State," Portland said.
Portland would not say what Johnson needs to address; however, when Johnson was held out of games at the beginning of the season, Portland cited "academic concerns."
At the time, Johnson was still allowed to sit on the bench, but did not wear uniform.
Asked whether Johnson would return to the team this season, Portland said, "Right now, I am dealing with the team I have ready to play. I will take care of things at the end of the season."
