The thud from the referee's hand smacking the mat echoed through the stunned and silent Rec Hall crowd. The Penn State Ice Lions are headed south for spring break. Not far south, but south nonetheless. White sandy beaches and crystal clear water of the Caribbean are no match for the painted ice and scratched boards of a hockey rink. Rest assured if the Ice Lions win a national championship, Maryland would be far better than the Bahamas. Talk about a beaten path. As defending champions, expectations in the playoffs are always high. As four-time defending champions, many people already have the ladder out, ready to hang the fifth banner from the team's rafters before the season is even over. Apparently, this primate was pretty good at jumping and latching on. If you asked any player on the No. 10 Penn State men's volleyball team (10-4) what they are most looking forward to this week and they said the Ohio State match, it might not be the entire truth.
