In response to those who are arguing for a constitutional amendment banning gay marriages based on biblical texts:
I would like all of them to argue for all the other constitutional amendments in Biblical terms. Where does it there say should be legal freedom of the press? And I would also like them to propose amendments based on every other dictate listed in the entire Old Testament on human life. Shall we make it constitutionally illegal to not believe in Christ as the Son of God and savior of mankind? Laws in a secular society do not stand on biblical rules. Our society gives you the freedom to live by your own religious mandates.
If you believe gay marriage is wrong, don't get in one. If people wish to do something that you believe condemns their soul to hell, they are allowed to do that. The Constitution is not in existence to support the Bible; it is there to support the civil liberties of tax-paying citizens of the United States.
