NEWS

Although Circleville Farm was sold in November, land development could still take up to a year to begin.

Schlow Memorial Library opened Monday after a three-week-long move to a temporary location at the former State College Borough Municipal Building, 118 S. Fraser St.

Penn State University Police did not issue any citations to students, unlike last year, during this weekend's Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon.

The attorney representing Christopher and Jason Rosengrant asked a judge yesterday to dismiss charges of involuntary manslaughter against the two All American Rathskeller employees.

Residence Life is offering a new special living option for Penn State students who are interested in promoting social justice on campus.

While events in San Francisco and Massachusetts have brought gay rights into the national spotlight, state Rep. Jerry Birmelin, R-Wayne, plans to introduce legislation that would greatly restrict gay rights in Pennsylvania.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has launched a second set of lawsuits against people for illegally downloading music. However, some people in the Penn State community disagree about whether filing lawsuits is an effective way to stop the problem.

SPORTS

If you wanted to put a frame around the playing career of Penn State senior forward Glenn Zuck, picture the goal he scored late in the first period three weeks ago against then-No. 14 Delaware.

There have been the highs -- an 83-46 pounding of then No. 12 LSU on Nov. 21, a 20- point triumph over then No. 2 Texas on Dec. 7.

After three and a half hours of waiting and preparing Katie Bogniak and "her boys" are finally here.

The Penn State men's basketball team hasn't been in a lot of close games this year, and a lack of experience was definitely evident in the second half of Saturday's 66-58 home loss to Illinois.

Upon returning from his first Big Ten road trip as a head coach, Ed DeChellis brought back a few souvenirs.

Despite not winning a league championship, the Penn State Ice Lions have something to be proud of.

SCIHEALTH

Safe sex: In today's modern age, hundreds of contraceptive products have hit the shelves from the widely used condom to newer forms of pills and patches. Up until recent years, females have been presented with a plethora of products to use.

While the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) continues to test a new male birth control pill, female hormonal contraception methods have been available for years, and new types are still being developed and introduced.

The new firewall system currently being installed in all campus residence halls is ready to protect the university network and make for safer computing, regardless of recent student criticism, Penn State officials said.

Is the world ready for another Dolly? With the recent development of the technology to successfully produce a human cloned embryo in Seoul, South Korea, two weeks ago, it is evident that cloning has taken a giant leap forward.

Ten thousand slices of Canyon Pizza would cost exactly $10,000. Ten thousand bottles of beer would cost about $8,000. Ten thousand CDs might cost $170,000. But 10,000 steps are absolutely free, and the benefits gained are more than anything gained from a slice of pizza, bottle of beer or CD.

Question: After my first experience with sexual intercourse, I experienced spotting and then a full period, and then a two-week time span of spotting. Is there something wrong?

Spring break is less than two weeks away. The treadmills are running full speed and sit-ups have become a way of life. With all the time students are spending in the gym, many forget an important part of working out -- stretching.
