Readers respond to yesterday’s article about ‘white-only’ scholarship
I am very happy to hear of a university in the United States that actually supports free speech -- too bad it's not Penn State. The College Republicans of Roger Williams University best demonstrate the right of free speech by promoting this scholarship in the same matter that affirmative action is given only to minorities. But to me, this scholarship highlights the lack of equality in our society, where we have to live in the Jessie Jackson methidology of, "You did it to us, so we can do it to you," and everyone calls this equality. Black Caucus President Tiffanie Lewis calls this an "act of white supremacy," and she is the president of the most racist organization on campus. She needs to realize that equality was achieved by the great efforts of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mahatma Ghandi, who put their lives on the line. Lewis needs to ask herself which is better, equality or racism? Affirmative action is racism. Nimit Shah
