PSU student attacked, robbed by masked man

A 20-year-old Penn State student was robbed after she was attacked by an unknown assailant early yesterday morning.

The victim was not injured, and no weapons were involved with the incident, the State College Police Department said. The man made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 6 feet tall and in his 20s. He was wearing a dark blue, hooded sweatshirt, black "puffy" coat, black knit cap, black gloves and a mask that covered his mouth and nose.

Police said the victim was walking near the corner of East Calder Way and McAllister Street when the suspect approached her and forced her into an area out of plain view near the McAllister Street Parking Deck. After removing the cash from the victim's wallet, the man fled on foot toward Beaver Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to call State College police at 234-7150.
